To unblock someone on Pinterest, open their profile and tap the Unblock option under their profile details, then confirm. You can also go to Settings → Privacy and data → Blocked accounts and unblock from the list. Pinterest sends no notification either way, and the person will not automatically start following you again.

Method 1: Unblock From Their Profile
This is the fastest route and works identically on the app and desktop.
- Tap the search icon and type the person’s name or username.
- Open their profile from the results.
- Look for the Unblock option under their profile details. On business accounts it sits behind the three-dot icon in the top right of the profile.
- Tap Unblock and confirm.
That’s it. The block lifts immediately.
If their profile won’t load: you may be searching the wrong username, or the account may have been deactivated. Blocked profiles are still reachable by you, so a profile that won’t open usually means something else.
Method 2: Unblock From Your Blocked Accounts List
Use this when you can’t recall exactly who you blocked or what their username was.
- Open Pinterest and tap your profile icon.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Privacy and data.
- Select Blocked accounts.
- Find the person and tap Unblock, then confirm.
The exact menu label varies between app versions. Some builds list it under Account management instead of Privacy and data. If it isn’t in one, check the other.

That last row catches people out. Blocking severs the follow relationship permanently, so unblocking restores the ability to follow but not the follow itself. Neither of you is refollowed automatically.
What Blocking Actually Does (and Doesn’t)
Worth understanding before you reverse it, because blocking on Pinterest is less absolute than on most platforms.
It does: hide their Pins from your home feed, prevent them following you, block comments and messages, and stop them viewing your profile and boards while signed in.
It doesn’t: remove their Pins from search results or group boards you both use, delete Pins you already saved from them, or block any new account they create. If someone makes a second account, you’d need to block that separately.
Pins you saved from them stay on your boards. Blocking doesn’t clean those up, so if you want them gone you have to remove each one yourself.
Nobody Gets Notified
Pinterest sends no notification when you block or unblock someone. The only way the person finds out is by trying to follow you or interact with your Pins and hitting a wall.

Consider Muting Instead of Blocking
If your goal is a cleaner feed rather than cutting contact, blocking is heavier than you need. Two lighter options:
- Hide the Pin. Tap the three dots on any Pin in your feed and choose to see fewer like it. This trains your recommendations without touching the person’s access.
- Unfollow. Their content leaves your feed while everything else stays normal.
Reserve blocking for harassment, spam, and unwanted contact. Use the lighter tools for content you’re simply tired of seeing.
Save Their Pins Before You Block
Blocking cuts off your access to that person’s profile and boards while you’re signed in. If they’ve posted tutorials, recipes, or reference videos you actually want to keep, download those files first, because you won’t be browsing their boards afterward.

FAQs
Do they automatically follow me again after I unblock them?
No. The follow was removed when you blocked them and doesn’t come back. If you both want to reconnect, one of you has to follow again manually.
Can I re-block someone after unblocking them?
Yes, as many times as you like. Pinterest sets no limit and applies no penalty for changing your mind.
What happens to old messages and comments?
Comments the blocked person left on your Pins are hidden while the block is active. Old direct message threads aren’t restored by unblocking, so a fresh conversation starts from scratch.
If I block someone, does it block their other accounts too?
No. Blocking applies to one account only. Someone who creates a new profile can view and interact with your content until you block that account separately.
Can I see a list of people who have blocked me?
No. Pinterest gives you your own blocked list but never the reverse. The only clue is that their profile stops loading and their Pins vanish from your search results.
