Unsave vs. Delete: Why the Button Is Missing
Pinterest uses two words for the same result, and this is why most people can’t find what they’re looking for.
- Unsave only appears for a few seconds right after you save a Pin. It’s an undo prompt, not a permanent button.
- Delete is what you use once that prompt disappears. It lives inside the Pin’s edit menu.
If you saved a Pin more than a moment ago, the option you want is called Delete. Both remove the Pin from your board.
Important: There Is No Undo
Pinterest has no trash folder, no recycle bin, and no recently deleted section. Once a Pin is removed from your board, it is gone from your account permanently.

How To Unsave a Pin on Desktop
Fastest method:
- Sign in at Pinterest.com and click your profile picture, then open Saved.
- Open the board containing the Pin.
- Hover over the Pin until the pencil icon appears.
- Click the pencil, then click Delete in the bottom left.
- Click Delete again to confirm.
From an opened Pin: click the Pin → three-dot icon → Edit Pin → Delete → confirm.

How To Unsave a Pin on iPhone and Android
The app works identically on both.
- Tap your profile icon in the bottom bar.
- Open the board. If the Pin sits inside a section, open that too.
- Tap the Pin.

How To Unsave Multiple Pins at Once

- Open the board.

- Bulk selection works inside one board only. You can’t select across boards.
- The “All Pins” view has no delete option. Open the specific board instead.
If your Pins are spread across many boards, move them into one board first using the same Organize menu, then clear them together.

Archive Instead: The Reversible Option
Archiving hides a board from your public profile and stops it affecting your recommendations, but keeps every Pin intact. Archived boards sit at the bottom of your Boards tab and can be restored anytime.
To archive: open the board → pencil icon → Archive.
Delete when you want something permanently gone. Archive when you might change your mind.

No. Removing a Pin is silent. The creator gets no notification and your followers aren’t told. The Pin’s save count simply drops by one.

That view combines Pins from every board, so Pinterest doesn’t attach editing controls to it. Open the specific board the Pin lives in and the delete option appears.
Is there a limit to how many Pins I can unsave at once?
